Financial Wellness

Days: Mondays
Time: 6:00 p.m.
Location: Edward Jones Office
Instructor: Christopher Smith, Financial Advisor
Fee: $10 per class or $32 for all 4

January 9 – Foundations of Investing
We will discuss key features of bonds, stocks, and mutual funds, asset allocation and the impact of inflation. This class is perfect for those new to investing or those liking a refresher.

January 23 – Smart Choices in Retirement
Learn how to achieve a stable, steady income in your retirement.

February 6 – Outlook and Opportunities:
Economic Recovery, Progress not Perfection It’s a growing concern for many and we will discuss the slow economic pace of recovery, rising deficits and debt, low interest rates, municipal bonds and opportunities in the U.S. and overseas.

February 20 – Annuities and Your Retirement
Plus Protecting What’s Important Understand the basics of annuities and their benefits. We will also discuss how insurance can protect against life events such as health, disability, and life.

Ladies Day Away

Dates: Saturdays, January 14, February 11, March 17, April 14, & May 12
Time: 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Location: CHS Computer Lab
Fee: FREE

Have you ever wanted a day to just get away and do your own thing? We’re providing the location, you provide the activity. Quilting, scrapbooking, knitting, sewing, crafting, painting, reading, etc. Come for a couple hours, or join us for the whole day. A quiet area with computers will be available if you’d like to get some work or studying done...away from home.

Writer's Support Group

Dates: Tuesdays, January 10, February 21, April 3, May 15
Time: 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Location: Amundson Center

Fee:
$6 R per meeting / $7 NR per meeting
$20 R / $25 NR all meetings
*Register by the Friday prior to each meeting

Do you like to write in your spare time but often feel isolated in the process? Get rejuvenated by being around other people with the same interest. Meetings include progress reports, critique sessions, writing activities, snacks/social time, an occasional speaker and a closing prayer or devotion. Pre-registration through the CAP office is required. *Location for the February 21 meeting is to be determined; please contact the CAP office for location.

Fee: $16 R / $24 NR per class or $75 R / $100 NR for all 5 classes

Have you ever considered making your own greeting cards? Well this is your opportunity to learn how and get introduced to the hobby of stamping! Participants will make 6 cards in each session- 2 each of 3 different designs. The cards will be general purpose greeting cards. Min 3 / Max 12
