The Cambridge Community Pool, located in the Cambridge Elementary School, is managed by the Cambridge CAP. This beautiful facility offers eight lanes and a thirteen foot diving well. The pool is open year round to both residents of the Cambridge School District and non-residents. We offer swim lessons, certification courses, open and lap swim, water fitness classes, swim team and much more! Aquatics Workout Challenge!
How fit can you get? The Cambridge CAP is challenging you to step up your workout routine. All you need to do is workout three times per week for at least a half an hour in duration from January 4 – January 31. Let the CAP staff track your aquatic workouts, and if you complete the challenge you will be entered into a prize drawing. Sign up must be completed by January 1.Go to Top
Water Safety Instructor Course

Fee: $150 R / $185 NR
Based on the American Red Cross guidelines, this course training participants to teach water safety, including the Basic Water Rescue course and the Learn to Swim program. Upon successful completion of the courser, you will receive a Water Safety Instructor (valid for two years) certificate from the American Red Cross. Participants must complete the pretest on the first day in order to continue with the course and attend all dates.
Pretest includes proficiency in performing the following strokes:
* 25 yards: front crawl, back crawl, side stroke, elementary backstroke
* 15 yards: butterfly
* Tread water for one minute
* Maintain position on back either floating or skulling for one minute
* Tread water for one minute
Participants MUST attend all dates and times; no exceptions.

Lifeguard Certification Course
Dates: March 29 – April 1Times: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Ages: 15 & up
Location: CACP
Fee: $175 R / $210 NR
Take this course and become an American Red Cross certified lifeguard. Individuals must pass a skill test including:
• 300 yard swim- 100 yards front crawl, 100 yards breaststroke, 100 yards of either front crawl or breaststroke
• Swim 20 yard approach, retrieve 10 pound brick from bottom of pool and return back 20 yards to starting point
• Tread water for 2 minutes
Participants MUST attend all dates and times. No exceptions!

Water Fitness descriptions:
Fit after 50
This non-impact, cardiovascular workout is desinged to build muscles, increase flexiblity and improve functional fitness. Each class will be held in the shallow end of the pool and will end with a stretching sessions for a total body workout. Classes are continual and are held on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m.
Aquacize
Join this fun, upbeat, and challenging class that will increase you cardiovascular stamina while building muscle. Routines will include exercises in both the shallow and deep water. Come ready to sweat, work, and have a good time. Classes are continual and held on Monday and Wednesday nights from 7:00 - 8:00 pm and Saturdays from 10:00 - 11:00 am.
