The Cambridge Community Pool, located in the Cambridge Elementary School, is managed by the Cambridge CAP. This beautiful facility offers eight lanes and a thirteen foot diving well. The pool is open year round to both residents of the Cambridge School District and non-residents. We offer swim lessons, certification courses, open and lap swim, water fitness classes, swim team and much more!

Aquatics Workout Challenge!

Are you looking for a vacation getaway this winter? Let CAP take you away on a vacation work out challenge. Start the New Year off right by participating in the Aquatics Workout Challenge. All you need to do is workout three times per week for at least a half and hour in duration from January 2 - February 3. Let the CAP staff track your workouts and every time you make it to a new vacation spot you will be entered into a prize drawing. Sign up by December 30.

Water Safety Instructor Course

Dates Times
March 28, 29, 30 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
March 31 & April 1 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Ages: 16 & up
Location: CACP
Fee: $200 R / $235 NR
Registration due by 3/21

This course trains participants to teach water safety, including the Basic Water Rescue course, six levels of the Learn to Swim and Parent and Child Aquatics according to the American Red Cross guidelines. Upon successful completion of course requirements, participants will receive a Water Safety Instructor (valid for two calendar years) certificate from the American Red Cross. Participant must successful complete the pretest on the first day in order to continue with the course. Minimum 6 participants.

Pretest includes proficiency in performing the following strokes:

• 25 yards: front crawl, back crawl, side stroke, breast stroke, elementary backstroke
• 15 yards: butterfly
• Maintain position on back either floating or skulling for 1 minute
• Tread water for 1 minute

Participants MUST attend all dates and times. No exceptions!

Lifeguard Certification Course

Dates: March 27 - 30
8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Ages: 15 & up
Location: CACP
Fee: $215 R / $250 NR
Registration due by 3/21

Take this course and become an American Red Cross certified lifeguard. Individuals must pass a skill test including:

• 300 yard swim- 100 yards front crawl, 100 yards breaststroke, 100 yards of either front crawl or breaststroke
• Swim 20 yard approach, retrieve 10 pound brick from bottom of pool and return back 20 yards to starting point
• Tread water for 2 minutes

Participants MUST attend all dates and times. No exceptions! Minimum 6 participants

Water Fitness Classes

Fit After 50

Days: Tuesdays & Thursdays
Time: 7:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m.
Location: CACP
Fee: $4 R / $5 NR per class
10 punch: $35 R / $45 NR
20 punch: $55 R / $65 NR

This non-impact, cardiovascular workout is desinged to build muscles, increase flexiblity and improve functional fitness. Each class will be held in the shallow end of the pool and will end with a stretching sessions for a total body workout.

Aquacize

Days Times
Monday, Wednesday 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Saturdays 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

Fee: $4 R / $5 NR per class
10 punch: $35 R / $45 NR
20 punch: $55 R / $65 NR


Join this fun, upbeat, and challenging class that will increase you cardiovascular stamina while building muscle. Routines will include exercises in both the shallow and deep water. Come ready to sweat, work, and have a good time.
