Family Programs


Themed Birthday Parties

Are you looking for a fun and exciting way to celebrate your child’s birthday? Look to the Cambridge Pool! We are now offering themed birthday party rentals. Themed rentals will include pool time, games, decorations, party favors, and electronic invitations for parents to utilize. Parents may bring cake and other supplies as needed. Normal pool rental fees apply in addition to a $30 themed party fee. Additional fees may apply depending on anticipated number of attendees. Contact the pool to schedule your party!

Party theme options: Pirates, Jungle, Under the Sea/Mermaid, and Tropical.

Cambridge Community Cafe

Date: First Thursday of every month
Time: 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Location: Amundson Community Center
Age: Everyone!
Fee: FREE

You are invited to join in the fun at the monthly community dinner! The dinner is open to all who live and work in Christiana, London, Cambridge, Rockdale and Oakland. Each evening is sponsored by a local organization or group. The mission of the meal is to build community by fostering friendship, family and fellowship in the five communities. Volunteers are needed to help serve, greet, entertain with music, and clean up after the meal.

Cambridge Cares

Join the Chamber of Commerce, Cambridge Foundation, local municipalities and CAP in welcoming new families into the Cambridge School District. Together we have assembled welcome bags containing information about our community, services and goodies from local businesses. To participate in this program by contributing items or to notify us of new families we may have missed, please contact CAP at cap@cambridge.k12.wi.us

Blue Jay Backpack

Together, the Cambridge School District and the Cambridge Community Activities Program are offering free meal program, called the Blue Jay Backpack. The goal of this program will be to ensure all Cambridge students have access to healthy, free food over the weekends. The Blue Jay Backpack will be a nutritional meal, packed in a paper bag and sent home with students on the last day of school for the week. All children in the Cambridge School District who returna completed registration form are eligible to participate. Forms will be sent home through school weekly. Parent's Night Out

Day: Friday, April 12, May 10
Time: 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Grades: 4K – 5
Location: CAP CARE
Fee: $8 per night / per child

Drop the kids off and head out for date night! CAP staff will have fun programming planned to keep the kids entertained while the parents get away. Payment and a registration form must be turned in to the CAP CARE room by the Wednesday prior to the event. Min 8 / Max 20.

Touch-A-Truck & Bike Rodeo

Date: Saturday, May 18
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Location: CHS East Parking Lot
Fee: FREE

Join us for the tenth annual Touch-A-Truck event! Don’t miss your chance to see the vehicles that fascinate you up close and hands on, including emergency and military vehicles, farm equipment, and much more. Registration is not required for this free event. Don’t forget your camera for this wonderful photo opportunity!

In conjunction with Touch-A-Truck, the Dane County Sheriff’s Office will also be hosting a bike rodeo. A bike rodeo is designed to be a fun, educational and hands on way for children and parents to learn about bike safety. There will also be a bike technician available to do a safety check on the bikes. An adult must attend along with the bike riders. Free bike helmets will be provided for the first 50 participants to arrive. Participants who complete the course will be eligible for a prize drawing.

Movies in the Park

Dates: Fridays, June 7 & 28, July 19, August 2 & 16
Time: Dusk
Location: Ripley Park
Fee: FREE

A free event for the whole family! Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and pillows for the return of this great summer activity. The Ripley Park concession stand will be open for movie refreshments. We have a great summer line-up full of family friendly movies that are sure to be a hit! Watch the CAP website for movie hints and weather cancellations.
