Breakfast with Santa

Fee: $5 per plate
Welcome in the holiday season with this special event. Enjoy breakfast, pictures with Santa, holiday music, crafts and more! Parents must accompany children. All proceeds will be used to purchase Christmas gifts for underprivileged children in the Cambridge area. This event is sponsored by the CAP, the Cambridge Volunteer Fire Department, Dane County Sherriff ’s Office and the CHS girls’ basketball team.

Whoville Who-le-bration

Join us for the 2009 Whoville Who-le-bration! This popular family event fills up fast – don’t wait to register! Together, the Cambridge High School Family & Consumer Education classes and the Cambridge CAP are hosting this exciting event.
The Grinch himself will be present in the CES Theater to share the tale of the The Grinch That Stole Christmas. Again this year, there will be two performances of the Grinch stage production - 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. All guests will be invited to the theater for the stage presentation of the holiday Grinch story under the direction of Mrs. Simone Mausser.
Children and parents will be able to stroll the streets of Whoville between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The Whoville Bakery, along with the ever popular Hair Design Boutique will be open. Arts and craft projects will take place at each Whoville shop. Don’t forget to wear your favorite pajamas or Who-ville attire! Last, but not least, the “feast of beast” will be held in the Elementary School cafeteria. A buffet style meal will be available from 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Reservations are required. Reservations are available on a first come, first served basis. Reservations will only be accepted with full payment; families with complete reservations will be sent a confirmation.

Holiday Movie Madness

What’s there to do over winter break? There is plenty to do at the Cambridge pool. Enjoy the afternoon swimming and watching winter holiday movies. Noodles will be provided for use in the pool, but may also be brought from home; lifejackets will not be allowed. (Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult and children age 7 and under must be accompanied by an adult in the pool at all times.)

New Year's Eve Party

3, 2, 1... Happy New Year! At the Cambridge pool, we will be ringing in 2010 at 2:30 p.m. on December 31. Join the CAP staff in making resolutions and celebrating the New Year. Noisemakers, hats, swimming and crafts will all be part of the fun. (Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult and children age 7 and under must be accompanied by an adult in the pool at all times.)

Sweetheart Swim

Can’t get away over spring break? Come vacation at the Cambridge Pool! Dress in your tropical attire, bring your sun glasses, and lounge by the poolside. CAP Community Resale - Fundraising Event
Date: Saturday, April 10Time: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Location: CHS Gymnasiums
Buy or sell good, usable clothing for infants thru school-aged children, or purchase gently used Blue Jay apparel or sports gear. You won’t want to miss this opportunity to clean out your clutter or acquire new gear. The Cambridge PTO will be on hand for Blue Jay apparel “trade-in” as well. That’s right, trade in your gently used Blue Jay apparel for a coupon towards the purchase of new gear!
To buy: The doors will open at 9 a.m.; there is no admission fee. Come prepared to purchase great bargains for your baby, toddler, or schoolaged child.
To sell: Register by April 1 or until spaces are full. Each space includes a 6 ft table; fee is $10 R / $15 NR. Sellers may begin setting up at 8 a.m. and must be cleared out by 1 p.m. Extra tables are available by request for an additional $5 each. Baseball Bowling Fundraiser

Touch-A-Truck & Bike Rodeo
Date: Saturday, May 8Time: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Location: CHS East Parking lot
Fee: FREE
Join us for the seventh annual Touch-A-Truck! Don’t miss your chance to see the vehicles that fascinate you up close and hands on including emergency and military vehicles, farm equipment, and much more. Registration is not required for this free event. Don’t forget your camera for this wonderful photo opportunity!
In conjunction with Touch-A-Truck, the Dane County Sheriff ’s Office will also be hosting a bike rodeo. A bike rodeo is designed to be a fun, educational and hands-on way for children and parents to learn about bike safety. There will also be a bike technician available to do a safety check on the bikes.
An adult must attend along with the bike riders. Free bike helmets will be provided for the first 50 participants to arrive. Participants who complete their course will be eligible for a prize drawing.
