Cambridge-Deerfield United Soccer Camp

Learn from the Cambridge-Deerfield United high school soccer coaches and players! Enjoy two sessions of fun, skill-based camps that feature 3 on 3 games and expert instruction from certified coaches and local high school players. The Cambridge CAP offers baseball to youth ages 5 – 19. Registration deadlines vary due to different league requirements. Please note each league’s deadline to avoid a $10 late fee.
Tiger T–Ball
Dates: SaturdaysJune 12 – July 24 (no T–Ball 7/3)
Time: 8:45 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
Ages: 5 – 6
Fee: $20 R / $30 NR

Tiger T-Ball teaches children the proper techniques of throwing, catching, hitting, and running the bases. A low-key, fun approach will be used to teach the fundamentals to the children. This year, coaches will be assigned to teams; please indicate on the registration form if you are interested in helping. Children must be 5 years old by June 12 or entering Kindergarten in the fall.

Coach Pitched
Dates: Early June thru late JulyAges: 7 – 9 year olds or those that have played 2 years of T–Ball
Fee: $25 R / $38 NR

In this league, coaches are used to pitch to players. The first two sessions will focus on fundamentals, followed by a five week game schedule. More information will be available in early spring; schedules will be set after Little League schedules are completed.

ESYBL Little League Baseball
The Cambridge CAP participates in the Eastern Suburban Youth Baseball League (ESYBL), which includes the surrounding communities of Deerfield, Marshall, Columbus and Waterloo. The ESYBL is a recreational baseball league emphasizing skill development while learning to compete with teams from neighboring communities.Uniforms tops, belts and hats are provided for American and National League participants. Gray pants and blue socks can be purchased through the CAP at an additional cost.
There is a mandatory spring “Warm-Up” day for all boys interested in playing American or National League on Sunday, April 18 at the NMS baseball fields. (rain date April 25) National League will be from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm and American League will be from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. There will be a Little League coaches meeting for any parent interested in helping on Tuesday, February 23 at 7:15 p.m. in the CHS commons.
ESYBL American League
Dates: Late May thru late JulyAges: 9 – 10 (prior to 6/1)
Fee: $40 R / $55 NR

There will be a coaches meeting for anyone interested in coaching Pony or Teener on Tuesday, February 23 at 6:30 p.m. in the CHS commons.

U8 - Intro to Softball

Windmill Softball

The Cambridge CAP participates in an ASA sanctioned Windmill Girls Fast Pitch League. Girls are divided into leagues (U10, U12, U14 and U16) according to their age; cutoff is the previous January 1. Please provide the child’s birth date on the registration form. All levels of CAP Softball are traveling leagues (parent transportation required) and games are played both home and away. Practice schedules will vary from coach to coach; coaches will contact players to notify them of their first meeting date. Equipment and uniforms are provided; girls must have their own softball glove.

Fall Recreational Soccer

A fun, exciting, recreational soccer league open to all youth ages 5 – 10. Games are played at 8:00 a.m., 9:00 a.m., or 10:00 a.m., depending on registration numbers. Practices are held for the different teams at the discretion of their respective coaches. You will be contacted by a coach regarding your child’s team assignment.
U6
Open to 5 and 6 year old children – please note child must be 5 years old by April 17. U6 is intended to be an introduction to soccer, focusing on the fundamentals of the game and having fun. Children will play small sided soccer (3 on 3) on small sized fields (25 X 30 yards). They play four 8 minute quarters; referees and goalies are not used at this level.
U8
Open to 7 and 8 year old children. Children in U8 will play 4 on 4, on a 30 X 35 yard field. They will play four 10 minute quarters; referees and goalies are not used at this level.
U10
Open to 9 and 10 year old children. Children in U10 will play on a 60 X 45 field and will play 6 on 6 or 8 on 8, depending on program numbers. Participants will play four 12 minute quarters. There will be a referee and goalies used at this level.

A great opportunity for your child to improve their basketball fundamentals! Lead by CHS varsity coaching staff, the camp will emphasize the basic fundamentals of shooting, ball handling, passing, moves with and without a basketball, rebounding, and one-on-one defense. Your child will participate in daily league games. Also included in the cost of this camp is a commemorative t-shirt.

Girls Swish Clinic

Join the varsity coaching staff for this exclusive clinic that introduces your daughter to skills necessary to play basketball at the varsity level. Each session will develop and focus on different skills, both on the offensive and defensive end of the floor. Drills will include scoring from the triple threat position, creating space to get your shot, finishing at the basket, low post skills, and passing. Defensive positioning will also be introduced. Maximum 30 participants.

Blue Fins Youth Swim Team - Cancelled

The Blue Fins is a competitive youth swim team open to any swimmer who has passed the American Red Cross Level 3 swim lessons or has comparable skills. Practices will be on Mondays and Wednesdays only. Summer meets will consist of invites only, with a maximum of four away invites. The summer swim program will be highly technique focused. Our emphasis is on teamwork, individual motivation, self esteem, and fun. Swimmers improve their swimming skills, get great exercise, and make new friends. Minimum 25 participants.

NFL Flag Football League

NFL flag will have your child begging for more! Your child will receive a top of the line NFL jersey as part of their participation. Practices are held for the different teams at the discretion of their respective coaches. A coaches meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 25 at 7:15 p.m. for anyone interested in coaching. Players will be contacted by the coaches as to your child’s team assignment. All games will be played at the CES fields. Watch for information on registration to be in the Cambridge News or on the CAP website in July. New this year, participants may register throught the CAP website. Due to the registration process of NFL program, all participants must be registered by August 18; late registrations will NOT be accepted. Anyone needing internet access is encouraged to visit the CAP office, room 115 of the Cambridge High School.
