Lil' Jays Travel Basketball Program
Dates:Girls Season: October 22 December 3 (except 11/26)
Boys Season: January 7 February 11
Grades: 4 8
Fee: $55 R / $70 NR (Jerseys are provided for first year players; players needing a replacement jersey must add $25 to the registration fee)
This program is designed to provide students an opportunity to participate at a high level of competition. A strong commitment to skill development and work ethic are integral to this program. Playing times in games may not be equal for grades six through eight. Skill levels, attendance, attitude, sportsmanship, and commitment are used to determine playing time. Practices and games will take place both during the week and on the weekends. Both the girls and the boys will participate in a traveling league consisting of teams from around the area, including Columbus, Marshall, Waterloo, Lake Mills, and Jefferson. This program requires a great deal of commitment and travel for games and tournaments. Coaches will contact players to notify them of practice times and games. Parents are expected to help with home concession stands.

Your child will love this introduction to the sport of basketball. Each week will introduce new skills and techniques related to the game. The basic fundamentals they learn here will create a strong foundation of skills, an attitude of sportsmanship, and a love for basketball. Cost includes a commemorative t-shirt.

Grade 3 FUNdamentals

New this year, third grade students will have the opportunity to learn the game of basketball with their classmates. Participants will practice on Saturdays; coaches may designate an additional practice throughout the week. At the end of the season participants will have the opportunity to play in a tournament. The Blue Fins is a competitive youth swim team open to any swimmer who has passed the American Red Cross Level 3 swim lessons or has comparable skills. Our emphasis is on teamwork, individual motivation, self esteem, and fun. Swimmers improve their swimming skills, get great exercise and make new friends. Less skilled swimmers may be required to take outside lessons to help improve their stroke skills. Participants are required to attend at least two of the four practices per week and must participate in 75% of the meets. Meets are generally Friday nights and occasional Saturdays. Parents will be asked to help at home swim meets.
All parents and swimmers are encouraged to attend the preseason meeting on Wednesday, December 28 at 5:30 p.m. in the CES commons. Team suits will be available to try on at the meeting. Tentative schedules will be handed out and important season details will be addressed.

NMS Spirit Squad

Learn pom-pom, cheer and dance skills! The Spirit Squad is a great introduction to the sport of dance and poms. Participants will meet two times a week to learn a routine, both eight counts and cheers, which will be performed before, during and at half-time of the Tuesday, February 14 girls varsity basketball game. Fee includes matching spirit squad pom-poms.

Now is the time for your child to learn pom-pom and cheer skills! The Spirit Clinic is a great introduction to the sport of cheerleading, dance, and poms. Learn to Skate

Instructor: Matt Duffy, Hockey/Skating Instructor, Former College Hockey Player
Fee: $20 R / $30 NR
Children who cannot skate effectively will learn how to skate using different techniques with the help of a parent. Children who are comfortable on skates will learn basic hockey skills such as stick handling, passing, shooting, etc. This is not a competitive hockey class, but a class designed for fun. Each participant will need to bring their own skates and protective gear (under parental discretion).

Recreational Soccer

In this fun, exciting recreational soccer league your child will learn fundamentalss, rules and basic plays. Games are played at 8:00 a.m., 9:00 a.m., or 10:00 a.m., depending on registration numbers. Practices are held for the different teams at the discretion of their respective coaches. You will be contacted by a coach regarding your childs team assignment.
U6 Open to children currently enrolled in 4K or kindergarten. U6 is intended to be an introduction to soccer, focusing on the fundamentals of the game and having fun. Children will play small sided soccer (3 on 3) on small sized fields (25 X 30 yards). They play four 8 minute quarters; referees and goalies are not used at this level.
U8 Designed for children in grades 1 and 2; children will play 4 on 4, on a 30 X 35 yard field. They will play four 10 minute quarters; referees and goalies are not used at this level.
U9 The U9 program will be offered to children in grades 3-4 whom are interested in continuing to play recreational soccer. The U9 program will be structured based upon enrollment numbers.
Due to a continued decrease in registration for grades 4-5, CAP will no longer be offering U10 soccer. However, we encourage all soccer enthusiasts to check out the Glacial Drumlin Soccer program. The league offered by CAP is strictly a recreational league, focusing on fundamentals, equal play, and learning basic plays. Glacial Drumlin United (GDU) is a soccer club comprised of over 200 players from the communities of Cambridge, Deerfield, Lake Mills and Waterloo; with ages ranging from eight to nineteen. Practice schedules will be set by the coach and players will be contacted by coaches to notify them of their first meeting date. Team equipment and uniform tops are provided; girls are required to wear gray pants to match their uniform tops.

Little League
The Cambridge CAP participates in the Eastern Suburban Youth Baseball League, which includes the surrounding communities of Deerfield, Marshall, Columbus and Waterloo. For more information click on http://esyble.org Uniforms tops are provided for both American and National League; players are required to wear gray pants to match.There is a mandatory spring Warm-Up day for all boys interested in playing American or National League on Sunday, April 15 (rain date April 22) from 11:00 a.m. 12:30 p.m. for NL and 1:00 p.m. 2:30 p.m. for AL at the NMS baseball fields. Parent information meetings will be held in the NMS commons at 11:15 a.m. and 1:15 p.m., all parents are encouraged to attend one meeting.
Any parent interested in coaching is asked to attend the coaches meeting set for Tuesday, February 21 at 7:15 p.m. in the CHS commons.
ESYBL American League
