Adult Enrichment

Dates: Saturdays, February 24, March 17, April 7, May 5 & June 23

Have you ever wanted a day to just get away and do your own thing? We’re providing the location, you provide the activity. Quilting, scrapbooking, knitting, sewing, crafting, painting, reading, etc. Come for a couple hours, or join us for the whole day. A quiet area with computers will be available if you’d like to get some work or studying done…away from home.

Learn to protect yourself during this 6 hour workshop. Self protection is more than just physical techniques. Protecting yourself comes in many forms. Sensei Patricia Bolton, 3rd Dan, of IMOK, LLC and Shin Gi Tai Wisconsin will guide you through learning not only the physical techniques used to defend yourself if attacked, but also red flag behaviors to watch for, how to use your body’s reaction to danger to your advantage, safety measures to take to help you avoid danger and how to get help if you need it. Appropriate for ages 14 and up. Minimum 8 participants.

AARP Driver Safety Class

Fee:  $20 for AARP Members/$25 for Non AARP Members
Instructor: Neil McCallum, AARP Driver Safety Instructor

The AARP Smart Driver Course is the nation’s first and largest driver safety course designed especially for drivers ages fifty and up. The interactive course is intended to help drivers live more independently as they age and remain safe on today’s roads. Participants will receive a Smart Driver Guidebook to keep, and a certificate of completion to be submitted to participant’s private insurance agencies. 15 maximum participants

There are approximately 1,300 reported cases of shaken baby syndrome in the U.S. each year. This is a 100% preventable injury. This 2 hour workshop is for anyone (adult or youth) who would like to gain confidence in caring for children. It will educate on the signs and symptoms of SBS, steps to take once identification is made, and give you ways to cope with the stresses of caring for children. Minimum 8 participants.
