Have you ever wanted a day to just get away and do your own thing? We’re providing the location, you provide the activity. Quilting, scrapbooking, knitting, sewing, crafting, painting, reading, etc. Come for a couple hours, or join us for the whole day. A quiet area with computers will be available if you’d like to get some work or studying done…away from home.

Learn to protect yourself during this 6 hour workshop. Self-protection is more than just physical techniques. Protecting yourself comes in many forms. Sensei Patricia Bolton, 3rd Dan, of IMOK, LLC and Shin Gi Tai Wisconsin will guide you through learning not only the physical techniques used to defend yourself if attacked, but also red flag behaviors to watch for, how to use your body’s reaction to danger to your advantage, safety measures to take to help you avoid danger and how to get help if you need it. Appropriate for ages 14 and up. Minimum 8 participants.

The AARP Smart Driver Course is the nation’s first and largest driver safety course designed especially for drivers ages fifty and up. The interactive course is intended to help drivers live more independently as they age and remain safe on today’s roads. Participants will receive a Smart Driver Guidebook to keep, and a certificate of completion to be submitted to participant’s private insurance agencies. 15 maximum participants

This 7 week class offered through Safe Communities of Madison-Dane County is designed for adults over the age of 65 who live in their homes/apartments and do not need assistance of a walker, scooter, or wheelchair. Participants will receive education from trained leaders in regards to fall prevention. Instruction from a physical therapist, pharmacist, and local eye professional are all included.
