Tiger T-Ball


Dates: Mondays, June 4 – July 16 (no T-ball 7/2)
Time: 6:00 pm – 7:15 pm  
Ages: 5 – 6
Location:  NMS Diamond 3
Fee: $25 R / $37 NR (before May 9)
$35 R / $47 NR (after May 9)

Tiger T-ball teaches children the proper techniques of throwing, catching, hitting, and running the bases.  A low-key, fun approach will be used to teach the fundamentals to the children.  Children must be 5 years old by June 6 or entering 5 year old kindergarten in the fall.

Coach Pitch


Dates: Tuesdays & Thursdays
June 5 – July 19 (no games week of 7/2)
Ages: 6 – 9 or two years of t-ball  
Location: NMS Diamond 2 and 3
Fee: $30 R / $45 NR (before May 9)
$40 R / $55NR (after May 9)

In this local league, teams are arranged at random based on the number of participants. Coaches are used to pitch to players on both practice and game days. Teams will practice separately on Tuesday evenings with the focus on fundamental skills, rules of the game, and general gameplay. Teams will then compete on Thursdays evenings with no scores or standings recorded. Game schedules are created and shared with parents in late May.  Those participants who are 8 years old, may also consider playing Windmill Softball or Little League.

ESYBL Little League

CAP participates in the Eastern Suburban Youth Baseball League, which includes the surrounding communities of Deerfield, Marshall, Columbus, Waterloo, Jefferson, Fall River and Lake Mills. New communities have been added this year and they include Cottage Grove, McFarland, and Monona. For more information, please log onto http://esybl.org. Uniforms tops are provided for both Little League groups; players are required to wear gray pants to match. First year players are provided with a hat. Returning players may purchase
replacements by contacting the CAP main office at (608) 423-8108. There is a mandatory spring “Warm-Up” day for all boys interested
in playing American or National League on Sunday, April 8 (rain or shine) from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. for NL and 12:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. for AL at the CHS Gyms OR CHS Baseball Fields (weather dependent). Participants need to have proper shoes for either venue.
Parent information meetings will also be held on this day in the CHS Commons at 10:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m.; all parents are asked to
attend at least one meeting. Any parent interested in coaching is asked to attend the coaches’ meeting set for Wednesday, March 21 at 6:00 p.m. in the CHS Community Room. Coaches attending the meeting will receive a 50% discount on their child’s registration!

ESYBL Little League (National or American League)                
Dates: Mid May thru late July
Grades: 3 – 6
Registration before March 3: $55 R / $70 NR
After March 3: $65 R / $80 NR
 
Participants registered for little league should plan to attend the mandatory Warm Up day on April 8 to have basic skills assessed. Players assessed will be used in creation of both National and American league teams. National League teams play regularly on Mondays and Wednesdays, with American League teams playing regularly on Tuesday and Thursdays. Practices will start early May and will continue during the season at the discretion of the team and volunteer coach’s availability. Parent transportation is required and teams have an opportunity to participate in 1 tournament before, during, or after the regular season.

Pony Baseball

Dates: Early June thru late July
Grade: Current 7th graders
Registration before March 3: $65 R / $80 NR
After March 3: $75 R / $90 NR

(10 player minimum at deadline)

Pony League is a traveling baseball league (parent transportation required) designed to transition players from Little League to Teener League baseball. The schedule will be set by the league and players will be contacted in regards to practices and games. Uniforms are provided; players are asked to purchase blue socks. There will be a coaches meeting for anyone interested in coaching Pony or Teener on Wednesday, March 21 at 6:00 p.m. in the CHS Community Room. Coaches attending the meeting will receive a 50% discount on their child’s registration!

Teener Baseball

Dates: Late May thru late July
Ages: 13 – 15 (prior to January 1, 2018)
Registration before March 3: $85 R / $100 NR
After March 3: $95 R / $110 NR
(11 player minimum at deadline)

Teener is a traveling, competitive baseball league (parent transportation required). The schedule will be set by the coach and players will be contacted in regards to practices and games. Uniforms are provided; players are asked to purchase blue socks. There will be a coaches meeting for anyone interested in coaching Teener on Wednesday, March 21 at 6:00 p.m. in the CHS Community Room. Coaches attending the meeting will receive a 50% discount on their child’s registration!

Legion Baseball

Dates: Early June thru late July
Ages: 16 – 19
Fee: $75 R / $90 NR
Registration before March 3: $90 R / $105 NR
After March 3: $100 R / $115 NR
(11 player minimum)

Legion participates in the tri county summer baseball league (transportation required). Games are played in the evenings and on weekends. The schedule will be set by the coaches, and players will be contacted in regards to practices and games.

Baseball Open Gym

Dates: Sundays, beginning March 18
Fee: Free
Location: CHS Small Gym

Dust off your glove and get out your baseball equipment! It’s time to improve your skills for the baseball season. The CHS and youth coaches will help participants brush up on their skills in time for the upcoming season. Please note that this open gym in contingent on volunteer help to facilitate the session. All participants must have an emergency contact form on file prior to participation; available on the CAP website.
